The New Hythe/Leybourne Lakes country park complex can be found just off of junction 4 of the M20 in Kent. The area is bounded by Larkfield, Leybourne and Snodland. A detailed location map can be found here
The whole area is under extreme pressure from development (the Berkeley Homes 'Lakes' development encroached on the site and led to 2 lakes/ponds being filled in) and from various and sometimes conflicting uses - huge numbers of dog walkers, divers, wind-surfers, joggers etc.
This said if you go out early in the morning or the evening, avoid warm weekends and are prepared to stray from the car parks you can quickly find yourself amongst some of the best habitat in inland Kent.
